Paris, I’ve missed you. Seriously though, what took me so long to visit again? I have to say, this time round we were really ambitious in our plans – but for some reason, Lady Luck herself decided to join us this time around.
Essentially, I was determined (after a cancelled Paris trip due to sickness!) that I would make it to see the Christian Dior exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts before it would end (hurry, time’s running out – you’ve got until 7 January of next year!). And my valiant hero, Han, wanted to make it happen. So, we drove out on the Friday night after work from London to Dover, took the Euro Tunnel and then headed from Calais to Amiens. Arriving in our hotel at silly-o’ clock, we slept in, big time, and then made our way to Paris through the user-friendly French transit system. Managed to secure our tickets literally 3 minutes before departure time!
We had a lovely lunch at a restaurant that we picked at random near the Louvre Museum, and to our pleasant surprise, not the tourist trap of a place we thought we were getting ourselves into. Wine (and of course, cheese) was a little more than plentiful… to say the least – and I was seriously lovin’ it!
