Working with Bella Kotak was probably one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve had in modelling ever! The ever-so-reliably-magnificent Mi In Makeup was present to fix up hair and makeup, and as always, she 110% surpassed expectations! Everything else was coordinated by the ever-energic, enthusiastic, warm and outrageously-talented Bella.
At first, I was a little worried about working with such a heavyweight in the fantasy and photography scene (Bella is one of those household names that, when you think of her work, it makes you feel like a daydreaming child again – her work is so unbelievably enchanting!) – but as her online persona suggests, she is just as (if not more!) bubbly, sweet and kind in real life. Full of smiles and needless apologies, Bella felt like an old friend (despite it being our first meeting!). She crafted these stunning nails by hand – we actually went searching for these bluebells just hours before shooting this look! Her dedication to creating the perfect image is admirable – from outsourcing this gorgeous dress from JOANNE FLEMING (an English designer that is a master of detail and a fairy godmother of sorts in her designs) and driving around relentlessly to find the perfect flower bush for the images.
The end result almost made me fall off my chair – I was so delighted! Pratik Naik, of Solstice Retouch, is the magic hand that managed to complete the post-production. The super duo of Pratik and Bella (a lovely couple with the sweetest story) have recently launched their FINE ART ACTIONS business, featuring dreamlike presets (a must have for any photographer). I was so pleased that this image would then become the demonstration for Bella’s ethereal BLACK GOLD Photoshop action (which can be obtained here for FREE).
